Sengerema Clinical Officers' Training Centre(SCOTC) was established in 1971 by the Catholic Church, Mwanza Archdiocese by then, however later on it was transferred to new Geita Diocese after its inauguration in 1985. The college was registered under new registration system by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE-established by the Act No. 9 of 1997) having satisfied the requirements for Full Registration as a Technical Education and Training Institution Act, No. 9 of 1997, was dully Registered as such on the Seventh day of September of year two Thousand and four in the subject area of HEALTH AND ALLIED SCIENCES with Registration number REG/HAS/056. The owner of this college is Bishop Of Catholic Diocese of Geita. The institute has different management levels; Diocese health board(DHB) as an umbrella board in which all Health institutes under Catholic Diocese of Geita should operate by following policies, guidelines, rules and procedures to attain academic excellence. Sengerema health training institute board (SHTI) which governs both institutes, the third level is Management committee which runs the day to day Centre ’s activities. The Sengerema Clinical Officer’s Training Centre is proud of its history of serving the community and the nation in terms of education, service and research. Through creactivity, innovation, passion and clear vision, Sengerema Clinical Officers' College strives to build on these past successes and develop even greater strength in future.
